- Misconception: to lose fat is to stop eating
- more active you are physically the more food you need
- when you stop eating, your body goes into conservation mode. Body metabolic rate dropped. Muscle and fat in your body will be used as broken down.
- crash diets don't work because half the pounds you lose come from muscle. With less muscle, your body is a less efficient fat burning machine
- Choose a portion of lean protein
- Choose a portion of complex carbohydrates
- Add a portion of vegetables to at least two meals each day
- Consume one tablespoon of unsaturated fat daily, or 3 portions of salmon perweek
- Drink at least 10 glasses of water each day
